Wedding Season Approaches

It is my dream to procure a powder blue suit that I can wear to weddings and other happy formal occasions. I have made inquiries at places like Banana Republic and Jos. A. Bank which proved fruitless. At this point I am not sure how to continue this quest and would appreciate any ideas people might have to keep this dream alive.

I think you either have to go vintage or try seersucker. E.g.: Brooks Brothers or J. Crew.

You could get the suit, but you need to travel back in time...it's called the 60's hombre.

i was thinking of lloyd's tux in dumb and dumber, myself.

having just purchased a suit to wear to a wedding (albeit black, not baby blue) i can tell you that the process is most tiresome.

I found some really nice options at Nordstrom rack at severly discounted prices, plus they sometimes cary more "zany" options like light blue. in the end a macy's sale plus the promise of a further reduction with store card won out. have you tried a dept store?

For Colorado vintage stores, American Aces in Denver might be the ticket although Candies in N. Boulder might have it too. Or you could go with me to southeast asia (or pakistan) and get custom suits. :)

honestly tom, if you want a unique suit and you want it to look money (like you picture yourself looking), spend a grand and get a tailored one next time you're in New York, though Denver might have one legit tailor

There will definitely be a legit tailor somewhere, but I'd advise against spending a G on a suit. Go to vintage stores or step it up and find something in the range of 3-4K, which should include a nice tie, some shoes, a belt, and a shirt.

Just make it easy on yourself and go with the Tux-Tshirt.
