My 100 Favorite Songs: #40

Cyndi Lauper - Time After Time

I have this distinct feeling that this song is directly attached to a salient memory of mine - but it hasn't happened yet.

you know what's funny, is the song is obviously cheesy or whatever, but that's part of why it's awesome. I'm the same guy from your previous post that's never met you and is an amatuer player that's struggling to come to terms with being an accountant. I can't tell you why I like this song, or your blog so much, or even why I focus on poker more than accounting (when accounting is seemingly where my future is).

Regardless, maybe I enjoy your blog as much as this song because they're both indicative of me as a person. Perpetually wondering about the future and where I'm headed. (Or maybe it's just the cocktails I've had tonight) Either way, bravo for having the balls to put this up as one of your favorite songs, regardless of how cheesy it might be.

I'm oddly proud of your success lately, maybe (probably??) because I feel like I was a part of it. I remain hopeful that you'll continue on the tournament trail and will keep blogging about your experiences. Well done, and good luck in the main event.

Have you seen Strictly Ballroom? It's a cheesy Aussie romantic comedy about competitive ballroom dancing. This song is in it. It's one of my favorite good-bad movies, and consequently is one of the big reasons I like this song.
